I love garage sales: the early mornings, the searching neighborhood corners for hap-hazard neon signs, riffling through junk to find something special, old books, magazines for a dime, mitch match china, weird personal items, antique cameras. I love the random-ness, the thrill of the hunt, the in the car, the out of the car, well-loved things, homemade things, barely used things, little kids running side operations to sell homemade bracelets and lemonade. I love the culture, the anthropology, the giddy phone call to my mom (who also loves garage sales).
It all makes me happy.
