That morning 23 species of birds were identified on the property, bringing the number of birds identified on the site to 76. Bruce Ehresman, bird surveying guru and IDNR Wildlife Biologist, told the group that the two inventories completed, ours and one done previously, were both done during less than desirable conditions/times of year and that 150 is very likely number of bird species that benefit from this property. The morning of the dedication we heard Black-billed Cuckoo, Pileated Woodpecker, Cerulean Warbler and Northern Waterthrush.
